On April 4, 2018, Dr. Thomas Grogan presented the Ventana Medical Systems story at an NW Business Forum presented by OVBC. He brought the record of specialized knowledge converted into an enterprise of international consequence.
Knowledge Converted Into Industry
Ventana grew from Grogan’s work as a pathologist into a major diagnostics company centered in Oro Valley. Its development showed that globally important biomedical work could be built in Southern Arizona.
The chain behind that achievement was expertise, invention, capital, organization, production, and market adoption. Remove execution and ambition remains an intention. For local leaders, Ventana was evidence that Oro Valley could support sophisticated enterprise and skilled employment.
